Our History
Since 2015, we have been dedicated to serving homeowners and cottage owners in Barrie, Collingwood, Muskoka, Parry Sound, and surrounding regions, with their roofing needs, including: inspections, repairs, replacements, insulation top-ups, or new construction roofs.
As a family-owned roofing business, we are proud of our team of professional roofers who bring 100 years of combined experience, completing over 2,500 roofing projects since our inception.
With full licensing and insurance, we exclusively employ our own staff—never subcontractors. You can trust that our friendly, professional roofers will treat your home with the utmost care.
We are honoured to have received Best Business of the Year award from Three Best rated 5 years in a row and are a certified Owens Corning® Preferred Contractor.
A Message From Our Founder:
Jason Newkirk
“As a young man I never would have imagined that I would one day own my own roofing business, but in 2015 I made the decision to do just that and opened JN Roofing.
I knew I wanted to do things differently than I had seen done by other businesses, knowing there was an opportunity for some change in our specific industry.
One of the most important decisions I made was to hire experienced roofers as in-house employees, rather than relying on sub-contractors. I felt that by doing this I would have greater control to be able to deliver consistent, high quality workmanship. By hiring employees, they would have direct accountability to me for the work they perform, ensuring our clients receive the best possible service always.
I am also a believer of transparency and that would need to be at the core of our business practices as well. Making sure our clients are always provided with detailed information about the project, including cost estimates, timelines and materials used. I wanted our clients well informed throughout the entire process, giving them peace of mind and confidence in our services. From day 1, I wanted our clients to know our team is ALWAYS available to address any concerns or questions they may have, ensuring a smooth, stress-free experience that would also have ZERO pressure to ever make a decision the same day.
Over the years, with hard work by our team, JN Roofing has continued to grow steadily and earn a reputation for excellence as well as having integrity. We offer complete roof replacement, new construction roofs and roof repairs. We work with home and cottage owners, property management companies, condo corps, custom home builders as well as developers. This growth has recently brought us to purchase our own building, providing the much-needed space to store materials, have a showroom and enough offices for our staff. We also feel that by making the purchase of 161 Brock Street in Barrie, our clients can rest assured we are here for the long-term.
As I look toward the future, I remain committed to JN Roofing and our team. We will continue to innovate and adapt to the evolving needs of our clients, maintaining our position as a trusted entity in the roofing industry.
Building this business has been a very fulfilling journey for me and I can say quite proudly now, that at JN Roofing, “We Give Roofers A Good Name.”

Meet Our Team Leaders
Mike J.
Mike will be the first friendly face you meet from JN Roofing.
He will come to your home to inspect your roof, provide you with a detailed quote and take the time to explain all of our products, services and warranty information.
Mike can provide you with colour samples and answer all your questions regarding installing the complete roofing system.
He is our Sales Extraordinaire, and Mike can’t wait to meet you to discuss the JN team providing you with a new roof.

Every good company needs a strong crew leader, and that’s where Mike comes in.
Rain or shine, he will arrive on time to install your beautiful new roof or provide you with a solid repair.
Affectionately known by homeowners as “Mike with the big beard”, you can be sure that Mike and his crew will have everything taken care of at the end of the day.

At JN Roofing and Contracting Inc., we believe in making a positive impact in the lives of those around us. That’s why we choose to support various initiatives and organizations that aim to improve the well-being of our community.
We are proud sponsors of local charity events and fundraisers, such as the Gilda’s Club ‘Sunday Afternoon at the Lake,’ the Youth Reach Simcoe County, ‘An Evening in the Garden’ Gala and the ‘A New Haven for Youth Haven’ project. These organizations help raise awareness for important causes and provide much-needed resources to those in need.
In addition to supporting local charities/organizations, we have been actively involved in supporting the local ringette and baseball community. Through our support, we aim to inspire and empower the next generation of athletes. We believe that sports play a crucial role in the development of young individuals, teaching them valuable life skills such as teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. By investing in their athletic journeys, we hope to contribute to their overall personal growth and success.
